Welcome to those of you joining me from Frontierland Station and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the 3rd stop on our Magical Blogorail. Today I’m happy to share ideas for celebrating a pregnancy at Walt Disney World!
On our trip to Walt Disney World in February 2012, I found out I was pregnant 6 weeks before we left. That means I was 10 weeks pregnant on our trip. We also had a trip planned for July of 2012, where I would be 32 weeks pregnant. Rescheduling these trips was not an option for us. Being only 6 weeks away and not having travelers insurance, we couldn’t cancel. The trip in July was with the youth from church and it was not a trip that could be rescheduled either. So what did we do? Went to Disney and celebrated our baby, without the other two kids!
During our trips while I was pregnant, we ate well! I was “eating for two” after all! If you head to Walt Disney World while pregnant, plan on great, filling meals. Some of our favorites include the all you can eat buffets and family style meals! I would definitely suggest Ohana, Tusker House, Crystal Palace, Boma and Garden Grill. These restaurants are brilliantly themed and the food is great too!
On these trips we also spent a lot of time seeing the shows, movies, parades and entertainment. When we travel to WDW with our kids we are constantly bouncing from ride to ride. On these trips while being pregnant, we were able to enjoy all the attractions- rides and shows. We took our time wandering through the World Showcase. We spent time enjoying the Citizens of Main Street and Citizens of Hollywood. We were able to enjoy ourselves and the awesome entertainment because of my pregnancy.
Last, celebrate by taking pictures! I got a great photo with Mickey when I told him I was pregnant on the first trip. I had great plans to get a follow up photo with him at 32 weeks pregnant, but “pregnant brain” got in the way and I forgot. 🙁 I did, however, get a great photo with the Mayor of Main Street. My suggestion is to make a list of all the special places, characters or attractions where you want to document your pregnancy at Walt Disney World. Remember, that “pregnant brain” will kick in!
