- baker’s twine
- parchment paper
- cookie sheet
- cookie cutter shaped like Mickey
- cooking spray
First, preheat your oven to 275°F and line your cookie sheet with parchment paper. Cut the desired length of baker’s twine. Lay it on the cookie sheet snaking the twine back and forth across the cookie sheet. Unwrap and place the peppermint candies on top of the twine with at least an inch of space between each one. I wasn’t sure how much the candy would spread as it melted, so I spaced mine about 2-3 inches apart. Next time, I’ll only use 1 inch space! Place this in the oven for about 5-9 minutes. Watch the peppermints as they bake and remove them as they begin to flatten. Let the candies cool for at least 10 minutes before handling.
If you want to include a hidden Mickey in your garland, use a metal Mickey shaped cookie cutter. Spray the inside of the cutter with cooking spray so the candies won’t stick. Place the cookie cutter on the baker’s twin where you want the Mickey located. Use three candies to fill the cutter- one for the head, two for the ears. Make sure the ‘head’ peppermint is laying on the twine.
