Magical Blogorail Disney Transportation: The Parking Lot Trams
Parking lot trams are located at all four parks at Walt Disney World: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. These trams travel at 13.5 miles per hour and will carry you from your car to the park rain or shine!
When you park your car in a parking lot at one of the parks, you first need to remember the name of the lot where you parked. Then proceed to the end of your parking row and wait for the tram to pick you up. You must exit your wheelchair before boarding. If you can’t exit your wheelchair, you will not be able to board the tram. Once you board, you will get a fabulous safety spiel from the cast member on board along with other information.
Tips:
- Put smaller guests in the middle of the row.
- Strollers and wheelchairs need to be folded and stored.
- Hold on to your belongings.
- Keep your arms and legs inside the tram.
- Remember your parking lot name and row number.
- The tram will continue to run for 1 1/2 hours after the park closes.
- Listen to the tram spiel. They will share important information about parades, fireworks, park operating times and more!
Parking for the Magic Kingdom is actually the parking lot for the Ticket and Transportation Center (TTC). Once you park and board the tram, you will be taken to the TTC where you can take the Monorail or Ferry to the park. At the other parks, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom, you will be carried to the park entrance. Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon, ESPN Wide World of Sports and Downtown Disney do not have parking lot trams.
Thank you for joining me today. Your next stop on the Magical Blogorail Loop is Disney Living.

Magical Blogorail Green: Perfect Solo Disney Trip
Welcome to those of you joining me from Walt Disney World: It’s Not Just For Kids and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the final stop on our Magical Blogorail.
A solo trip to Walt Disney World! What a dream! I honestly can’t imagine what fun that would be to be able to do whatever I wanted at the parks! And since this is a dream, my solo trip doesn’t have a price limit…
The first part of my solo trip would involve an airplane. I would definitely fly and take Magical Express to my studio room at Bay Lake Tower that has a view of the Magic Kingdom. (Honestly, I’m not even sure if that’s possible since I’m not a DVC member or if the studio rooms offer a MK view!)
Upon arrival, I would tour the Towers taking photos and hop on the monorail to visit the other monorail loop resorts- Contemporary, Polynesian and Grand Floridian. I would eat dinner at 1900 Park Fare with Cinderella and Prince Charming. Following dinner I would go back to the Polynesian to catch Wishes from the Beach and watch the Electrical Water Pageant. By this time I will know how to properly use my DSLR camera and will have the proper lenses to be able to shoot good, quality photos at night and on dark rides! ๐
On day 1, I would visit the Magic Kingdom. I would arrive in time for the rope drop and then spend most of the morning on Main Street meeting the Citizens of Main Street, taking pictures galore and looking for hidden gems I’ve missed in the past because I’ve been pulled in too many directions by others! I would eat a cinnamon roll from Main Street Bakery and then make my way to the New Fantasyland where more photos would be taken. Along the way, I would talk with cast members, look for hidden Mickey’s, try new foods, and try to meet as many characters as possible. Lunch would be at Be Our Guest and dinner would be at The Plaza. Attractions, shows and parades are all optional on this trip!
Day 2 will be spent at Epcot. I would arrive at rope drop to explore Future World. Most of my time would be spent at The Land. I would ride Test Track to see the new changes. Again, most of my time would be photographing new (and old!) things, talking to cast members, looking for hidden gems and meeting characters. Lunch would be at San Angel Inn at the Mexico pavilion and I would slowly make my way around the World Showcase taking it all in and photographing as much as possible. I want to see as many shows and performances as possible. If it’s in the “Times Guide” I want to see it! Dinner is at Via Napoli and an evening of Illuminations completes the night.
The third day would be my last day. By this time I’m sure I would be ready to be with my family again! And I’m an extrovert, so being “alone” without someone to talk to would drive me nuts! I would start my day at Animal Kingdom and end at Hollywood Studios, since they have Extra Magic Hours! ๐ Same routine:
- Photograph as much as possible
- Look for hidden gems
- Find Hidden Mickeys
- Do all the “Times Guide” shows and such
- Talk to Cast Members
- Meet Characters

Stop asking “How Much Longer?!”
When we travel to Walt Disney World, we drive. It’s a fairly easy drive: 3 hours to Atlanta, 3 hours to the GA/ FL state line and 3 hours to Walt Disney World. Then you throw in gas, food and stretch breaks- it can take longer than 9 hours!
With three boys, we always hear the following questions:
- “Are we there yet?”
- “How much longer?”
- “When will we get there?”
- “How many more hours?”
