Welcome to this weeks Blog Hop hosted by Babes in Disneyland. My name is Beth and I’ve been a Disney fan since my first trip to Walt Disney World in 1983. I started blogging about my love for WDW a year ago. Before I began my blog, I had spent many, many hours reading other Disney blogs. As I mentioned in my Blogorail introduction the main reason I started blogging was to get to the Social Media Mom’s Celebration. That hasn’t happened… yet! 🙂
When I started my blog there were several blogs I would read daily. Two that stand out in my mind are Jim Hill’s and Ryan Wilson at Main Street Gazette. I loved, and still love, reading what Jim had to share. His writing style was so easy to read, informative and entertaining. I could get all sort of Disney insider information from his blog. I could learn about travel, movies, books and corporate information. I often wondered where he got his information to write about! Jim’s writings were more about the entertainment end of Disney. What I loved, and still love, about Ryan at Main Street Gazette was the personal stories he shared about his vacations to Walt Disney World. I know if I’m looking for something specific about an attraction, resort, event, activity, restaurant or park at WDW, there’s a good chance I’ll find something at Main Street Gazette.
Last year, when I started to write my own personal stories, tips, ideas and thoughts about Walt Disney World, I would use these two blogs as my standard to follow. I try to use personal stories and photographs to keep my readers entertained like Ryan does and I also try to find up to date information to share with readers. There are so many wonderful blogs about Disney, but to me, these two stood out the best and gave me inspiration to start my own.
Now that I consider myself “a blogger” I have made so many new friends! I talk to my husband about my “Disney friends” that I’ve made online like they are my next door neighbor or in my Sunday school class! I have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the Magical Blogorail started by Beth at Pursuing the Magic. Now, my blogging inspiration has grown to include the writers with all 5 of the Blogorail loops! If you are needing inspiration, you can always find it on the blogs with Magical Blogorail.
Have a magical day!
