I’m late with this post, but I felt I had to still do it! Mickey’s Toontown Fair is officially closed. Friday, February 11, 2011 was it’s last day. This is bitter sweet to me. I remember it being Mickey’s Birthdayland, Mickey’s Starland and finally Mickey’s Toontown Fair. It was Mickey’s Birthday Land from June 18, 1988- April 22, 1990 to celebrate Mickey’s 60th birthday. It was suppose to be temporary, but it was so popular that they reopened it as Mickey’s Starland on May 26, 1990. This was when I first experienced it. I vaguely remember it. The one thing I do remember is Minnie Moo the cow. She moved to Fort Wilderness in 1996 and died in 2001. In 1996, when they moved Minnie Moo they rethemed the land, again, to Mickey’s Toontown Fair. I always thought the Starland/ Toontown area was “cute”, but it was’t something I had to do at the Magic Kingdom.

Disney Junior is also going to incorporate more Healthy Living segments to encourage children and parents to live a healthier life through eating and exercise. “Mickey Mousekersize”, hosted by Mickey and the gang, will focus on exercising and getting kids off the couch and moving. “Special Agent Oso: Three Healthy Steps” will show a live kid demonstrating three healthy steps to eating right and exercising.
I do wonder if Ooh and Aah will still be part of our morning? Or Happy Monster Band, Choo Choo Soul, Ze Fronk, Dance A Lot Robot, or Can you teach my alligator manners? I guess we’ll have to wait and see!
For 2011, Disney Junior will be shown in the mornings like Playhouse Disney is now. Sometime in 2012, Disney owned SOAPNet will be replaced with Disney Junior 24/7!
Since we are missing school today (yet again) for snow, I thought it would be appropriate to do another post on “what to do with your kids when they miss school to go on a Walt Disney World Vacation!”
I made a Facebook Page for my Blog. I guess I don’t have enough to do!! You can check it out and “like” it if you want! When I update my blog, I’ll link it to the Facebook page. One more way to keep everyone in the loop.
A Disney Moms Thoughts on Facebook.
As you know by reading the little blurb to the right called “About Me”, I’m a full time youth minister. One of the things I LOVE about my job, other than the fact I get to hang out with awesome youth all the time, is having the opportunity to get involved in missions- local, national and abroad. I have made amazing contacts over the years and still keep in touch with many people I met while serving others. I’ve traveled all over the eastern half of the US and into the Caribbean and Central America on mission trips. This summer our Junior High group will be working in the Appalachian Mountains while our Senior High and College groups will work in Costa Rica
13 Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” John 4:13-14
It would be extra cool if the Night of Joy was in the summer so we could add that to our agenda!
